Internal communications is the function responsible for effective communication among people within an organisation.

Effective internal communications is one of the key drivers of employee engagement and proven to add significant value to organisations on all metrics from productivity to customer research.

Internal communications may variously be referred to as: employee communications, employee engagement, employee relations, internal marketing, company communications, staff communication or colleague communication.
Responsibility for internal communications may sit within various functions, including corporate communications, HR, marketing and the CEO or COO office.

Internal communications functions require many skills for example, writing, event management, corporate social responsibility, internal brand management, digital production, stakeholder management, channel management.

Chloe Prescott leads the internal communications practice here at Ellwood & Atfield. Chloe has a wealth of experience within this discipline having spent six years at the Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS) where she worked on various strategic internal communications and employee engagement programmes and initiatives. She has also completed the Postgraduate Internal Communication Management Diploma.

More recently Chloe has had a very successful two years in internal communications recruitment.
